Box²

For anyone wanting to learn how to play this very fun game Box^2, here is a professional artist's rendering in MSPaint (an MSPaint is worth a thousand MSWords):

Equipment needed:

7 tall cones for the Throwing Lanes (the two Throwing Lanes share a corner) 8 short cones/assorted shoes/don't use water bottles for the Scoring Zones

Rules:

• Like Box/HotBox (4-6 people),
but only a throw from a Lane to a Box counts as a score. 2 points for the smaller, farther-away Box.
• Any other completed throw doesn't score but team retains possession.
• No out of bounds, no clear line. (PLAY IT WHERE IT LIES!!!)
• No maker/taker: points reset in neutral corner with the opposing team.
• Stall count can start from 6 and go to 10
• Play to 11, no win by two (you should have shot more two pointers!!).

Tactically:

Best way to score is picking up quickly after a turn and catching opponent off-guard.

Defense often switches from person-on-person when disc not in a throwing lane to Zone defense once it goes 'Live' (in a throwing lane for scoring position)

Encourages:

Cutting, timing quick swings, rushing badly after a turnover ; )
